Fresh

Happy Monday-after-Easter.

The day after Easter always feels like this word-of-the-week…

FRESH

The emotional highs and lows of Holy Week have passed. It’s time to take the joy of the Resurrection into a new week. In many ways, today feels more like a new beginning than January 1st.

I spent part of Sunday wondering what that first Monday after the Resurrection must have been like for Jesus. I didn’t really come up with anything beyond a sense of wonder I can’t quite describe.

Personally, it’s a chance to put a setback and a tough couple of weeks behind me and start fresh. Hopefully I’ll be able to resume training and two-handed typing within a few days.

Following Jesus is about a lot of things, but at the core it’s always a process of new beginnings. I want to believe He felt joy, relief, a chance to finally take a deep breath.  Somehow, I hope He felt something like the sense of a fresh start I feel this morning.

What’s the fresh start you need this morning?

Have a great week.
