Happy Monday!
A thought to ponder in today’s word-of-the-week…
AMPLIFIED
When I speak up on an issue that’s not my own, my voice seems to be amplified.
It’s why the privileged must speak up for the oppressed. When one speaks up for himself, it’s expected. When someone else speaks for him, someone who has nothing personal to gain, the words seem to carry more weight.
We can’t leave victims of injustice to speak for themselves. Our actions, our voices, on their behalf, are amplified because we’re willing to speak for issues that aren’t “ours.”
It’s Monday. Might be a good week to remember that we drink from wells we didn’t dig, and respond accordingly.
