I’m not a New Year’s Resolutions guy. However, I do find this to be a useful season to slow down a bit and take some time to reflect, reevaluate, and recalibrate.
I’m reminding myself to think more about the big picture. I know God sees things from a perspective I can’t imagine, but I can try to expand my timeline and broaden my horizon. I’m pretty sure that when I get caught up in my petty, immediate details, when I make them urgent, I’m losing any chance of a more God-based perspective.
In this video, Francis Chan uses a simple illustration to reinforce the notion of thinking big-picture and long-term. If you can’t view the video in your email, click here.
Jesus came so we could live a full, abundant life. We can’t define “abundant” until we look at the big picture.
Happy New Year!
