This is Monte, and I’m part of the team too!
Last time Rich told you about all the teams that work together to make FRONT RANGE FREEDOM TOUR ’14 a success. He says we’re working with people all over the world. I don’t know what that means–I’m just a dog–but it sounds cool.
He also made this spiffy graphic of teams in a circle around a little girl from the HOME OF HOPE, but I felt left out because I wasn’t in any of the pictures.
Becky noticed I was feeling a little sad and told Rich he should update the graphic. See if you can find me.
Did you find both spots? I’m actually on TWO teams, and today I want to encourage you to consider joining me as part of the SAG Team.
If you’re about Rich’s age, I hear “SAG” might mean something about body parts being in different, often lower, places than before. I don’t get it, because dogs don’t worry about that kind of stuff. But on a cycling tour, “SAG” stands for “Support And Gear” and it’s an essential element of a successful tour.
The SAG team drives the support vehicle. We meet the riders every ten miles or so with water, snacks, and lots of encouragement. If someone breaks down along the road, we take repair items or pick them up if necessary. What’s really cool is we get to be part of the tour without sweating or riding up the hills. We just hang out in the shade and cheer and wag our tails. I don’t think the tail-wagging is required.
You even get a fancy title. On a cycling team, the soigneur cares for the riders’ physical needs. He’s the servant leader of the cycling world. So don’t worry about being a SAG person. You’re a soigneur.
It’s a week-long trip through some beautiful country with a group of great people (and me) all for a great cause. And you don’t have to ride your bike.
What could be better than that?
I need some people to join me on the SAG Team. If you’re interested, send Becky an email and join us.
I’ll handle the tail-wagging.
