Happy Monday!
Okay, it’s a little weird, but for today’s word-of-the-week I’m thinking about
NOTHING
“Nothing” is an odd word. How can you write a blog post about nothing?
You can play interesting word games with “nothing.” For example:
A crust of bread is better than nothing, and nothing is better than a big, juicy steak.
Apparently, a crust of bread is better than a big, juicy steak.
Or consider this philosophical conundrum:
Doing “nothing wrong” might be the same as “doing nothing.”
Over the weekend I encountered one comforting use of this confusing word.
I’m absolutely convinced that nothing—nothing living or dead, angelic or demonic, today or tomorrow, high or low, thinkable or unthinkable—absolutely nothing can get between us and God’s love because of the way that Jesus our Master has embraced us. Romans 8:38-39 (The Message)
Nothing can get between us and God’s love…
That’s not a word game. That’s an assurance on which to begin a Monday.
Have a great week.
