Happy Monday, and welcome to word-of-the-week. Today’s word is …
HOME
Like last week, this word comes from the road between northern California and Fort Collins. This time we’re headed home.
Vacations are great. We’ve taken time to rest, re-connect with each other, and get our perspectives a little more correctly centered. It’s good to do that, and we’re grateful for the blessing of this time to slow down.
But it’s time now for home. While we will miss the lazy days, home is where life happens. Home is where we put away the suitcases, where Monte can settle back into his familiar routine. And home is where the challenge begins once again.
Life can’t be, isn’t meant to be, a permanent vacation. It’s time to renew commitments to goals, set our sights on new horizons, and get back to work. Our challenge is to take a bit of the peacefulness we’ve experienced into this new week. The idea isn’t to escape from home, but to make home a place of peace and rest.
I hope this week brings to you a new energy, fresh challenges, and exciting opportunities. And I hope all of that rests on a foundation of peace and love in a place called home.
