Happy Saturday! If you’re new to THE CRAZY QUEST, you may wish to read about it here. Basically, I’m tracing my journey as I attempt to answer the question: What would you do if you didn’t know you couldn’t do it?
This week of training: 161 miles
JUST DO IT
I received a wonderful comment via email from a reader this week.
Personally I think The Crazy Quest has the wrong name.
There is nothing crazy about putting it out there and going for a goal. Not that I want to quote a commercial but “just do it.”
I never thought I would run a marathon. Then I never thought I would actually “run” the whole thing. Now I am going to try to run (Chicago in October) under 4 hours with the LAF (Lance Armstrong Foundation) Army.
I am seriously playing around with the idea of doing an ultra-marathon after Chicago, a 50 miler first and eventually a 100 miler.
Living intentionally, pursuing dreams, pushing the envelope, being out there and risking isn’t crazy, it is living. I have figured out that when I trust in God and allow him to guide my path then I end up places that I never thought I would, or could, reach. How can you use this trip to make a difference in peoples lives and to bless God? Pray about it and ask Him.
Wow. You guys are the best, and I’m blessed by the amazing feedback and input.
He’s right on target. There’s nothing crazy about going after your dreams, even when others scoff at them. The crazy thing would be to sit around and wish and wonder, “What if?”
Earlier this week I wrote about Lance Armstrong’s inspirational journey as he returned to cycling and pursued his dream of funding a cure for cancer. As I said earlier, Lance is a complicated guy but he lives his dream with commitment and passion. He doesn’t let the critics dictate his life.
Here’s an older one that fits this theme:

That how I want to live—I want to be on my bike, ignoring the critics, going after my dreams—even the crazy ones.
I hope you’re all striving toward your own crazy quest, and I’d love to hear more about some of them.
Unless you’re thinking of actually running one hundred miles—that’s crazy!
How about you? What’s your impossible dream? What are you doing to make it happen?
