But Wait!

Don’t you love those ads?

The guy yells at you, and just when you think he’s FINALLY done, he raises his voice a notch to announce the really-super-extra-special deal.

This is sorta like that.

When we act in the name of justice we believe God uses every mile, every drop of sweat, every act of sacrifice in ways we’ll never see to advance His kingdom. One tangible way that happens is through financial support. In the midst of COVID craziness, FREEDOM TOUR 2020 will soon complete our biggest fundraising year even.

More than 425 individuals and organizations donated more than $59,000 for the kids at Project Rescue’s HOME OF HOPE.

Those numbers are simply astonishing. I’m stunned as I type them.

But wait! There’s more...

We began the HOPE & FREEDOM CHALLENGE in May, when it looked like COVID might derail our other plans. We developed it as we went, and everyone was incredibly understanding and flexible. The result was 51,000 miles…and counting.

The folks at Project Rescue liked the idea, so they adapted and refined it a bit. Their version launched June 21, and has enrolled more than 1,000 people from 8 countries. So we’ve been collaborating on these parallel projects which will eventually merge.

But here’s the remarkable, over-the-top announcement:

Two anonymous donors were so impressed by this commitment that they each donated $25,000 as a pledge of $2 per mile. (Here’s the yelling part.)

These two initiatives raised an ADDITIONAL

$50,000

Why didn’t I tell you earlier? Well, Project Rescue launched later. We blew past 25,000 miles almost before they started, and there was this idea of maintaining some incentive. Plus, it’s kinda cool to have this unexpected prize waiting at the finish line, right?

If we put this all together, our biking, running, and walking in 2020 raised more than

$109,000

Since the FREEDOM TOUR started in 2013, our dream goal was to raise $100,000, the cost to operate the HOME OF HOPE for an entire year. I wasn’t sure we’d ever get there. I certainly didn’t think it would happen in this topsy-turvy, unpredictable year.

God had bigger plans.
