Incredible Coincidence?

red rocksPopular perception tells us life’s full of coincidences.

Two years ago I met Pastor Todd while I was speaking at a retreat in Moab, Utah. This week we needed a church to host us in Colorado Springs. Todd offered his church and invited us to their neighborhood block party, scheduled for the same night we were in town. We had a place to stay, a meal, and an audience anxious to hear about our journey. We left with some great contacts and several generous contributions.

At the party I met Ken, whose life was changed in college by an encounter with the same Fort Collins pastor who helped me find Jesus more than thirty years ago. While Ken and I were talking, he overheard Becky discussing a friend of our tour who needed a place to spend the night. Ken spoke to a friend, and a problem we’d all been praying about for a couple of days was resolved.

This all happened because I spoke at a retreat in another state two years ago. Some folks would believe this was all coincidence.

I don’t.

Our team is incredible. Wednesday they topped the Palmer Divide at nearly 8000 feet in mid-90’s temps, after wandering through south Denver courtesy of bad directions from yours truly. In my defense, the map insists there’s a trail where our team found rattlesnakes and an empty field.

Hopefully Thursday will get us out of Colorado Springs without incident and we’ll have a quick 70-mile ride to Pueblo.

    Rich,
so great to here of your conversation with Ken. I know the Ken of whom you speak and the story as well. I am so thankful the CS connection worked out.

Blessings on the ride. Enjoy the heat!
